Grosper Ships Five 200 TPD Corn Flaking Mills to Venezuela

Recently, Grosper delivered five corn flaking mills—each rated at 200 tons per day—for a customer project in Venezuela. The shipment supports large-scale grain and feed processing where stable flake quality, hygiene management, and predictable maintenance planning are priorities.

Ahead of dispatch, Grosper’s team verified the build against the agreed configuration and start-up workflow requirements, focusing on cleaning access, steam-exposed areas, and how operators adjust flake thickness during production. The shipment was prepared with the required documentation package and commissioning-ready interfaces to help reduce avoidable delays during installation.

Key configuration highlights on this delivery include:

  • A stainless-steel shell with protective covers and access doors designed to improve durability and corrosion resistance in steam-exposed environments.

  • Material-contact parts in VSS 304 stainless steel to support hygiene management.

  • Centrifugal cast high nickel-chromium alloy rolls, paired with SKF bearings and Siemens-Beide high-efficiency motors for stable operation.

  • A steam exhaust device intended to reduce corrosion risk from prolonged steam exposure.

  • A PLC-controlled hydraulic pump station that enables in-process adjustment of flake thickness, with roller engagement and speed control handled through the same station.

  • Built-in magnetic separation to help prevent metal impurities from damaging the rolls, plus a fully enclosed design intended to enhance operational safety.

What this means for you

If you’re planning a new flaking line—or upgrading an existing one—these checks can help you avoid downtime and rework:

  1. Corrosion & cleaning routine: confirm where stainless steel is used and how steam exposure is managed (exhausting, drainage, access for inspection and cleaning).

  2. Thickness control in real production: verify how operators adjust thickness (PLC/HMI logic, hydraulic station accessibility, lockout safety), and what can be changed without stopping the line.

  3. Roll protection & spares planning: confirm roll material, magnetic separation placement, and a recommended spare list (bearings, seals, key wear items) aligned with your operating hours and raw material variability.
